Certainly, prescription drugs are very necessary at times. However, if health-conscious people choose alternative remedies, when appropriate and with the approval of their health-care professional, they should get the same considerations and access to products as do those who turned to mainstream medicine. The appropriate use of herbs can be safer and more effective than mini drugs when people educate themselves properly to avoid misuse. Once allopathic medicine had a foothold, the old (but proven) practice of using plants and diet to heal the body was ignored and even discredited by many orthodox medical practitioners. Science had not yet uncovered the secrets of “holistic” healing and without this proof, physicians relied more and more on prescription drugs.
